Virtual Power Plants (VPPs) can be an essential resource to help manage load growth, ensure grid reliability, and keep rates affordable. But there's a lot of hype surrounding VPPs today, which makes it challenging to separate fact from fiction.
Join Uplight and Advanced Energy United (United), in partnership with the NARUC/ NASEO DER Integration & Compensation Initiative, for this "virtual site visit" to see how VPPs operate today.
We will also discuss a variety of VPP case studies, from simple single-asset aggregations to more sophisticated multi-DER aggregations, and describe the challenges and benefits of each. We will additionally answer questions from Commissioners and regulatory staff interested in exploring whether VPPs are a good fit in their jurisdiction.
